The rule of law
A few months ago, I was reading Advocacy and Respect for Cyclists’ primer on “Cyclists and the Law” and was surprised to learn that the Ontario Highway Traffic Act contains a provision to prohibit parked motorists from ‘dooring’ cyclists, or … Continue reading

Cycling in Ottawa: Live
I’ll be on Rogers television this evening from 9-10 PM as part of a panel discussing cycling and cycling infrastructure. Apparently there will be opportunity to call in and ask questions. So, check it out, if only for the opportunity … Continue reading

World Naked Bike Ride Tomorrow
Earl McRae (of all places) reminds me that tomorrow is World Naked Bike Ride Day, where riders get to celebrate the cycling, the purity of the human body, and chafing. I’d participate, but will (sadly) be out of town.
Critical Mass Rides
On Friday, May 30th, two hundred plus cyclists gathered together to ride up the the Jarvis Street ramp to slowly (and illegally) take over the entire westbound lane of the Gardner Express Way. This was part of the Critical Mass … Continue reading

The closure also extends one block north and south of Somorset on Bank, and is essentially the same closure as we saw with the collapse of Somorset House during the winter. Now, presumably this will open up within a couple … Continue reading
