I have recycled many hi-end bikes purchased at garage sales, ten + year old MTB for $20 +. Most of these require tires and cables from age not use and maybe a chain that is too rusted.

I have recycled about 100 bikes in the past 42 years.

I was trying to work a deal with the land recycling centres ( another region )to sort them, the good from the bad so that only the bad/cheap were scaped.

More to come

Cycle Salvation is partnered with the re-Cycles Bicycle Co-op. They use the shop when we're not open, and that's the reason we've run low - bikes are being processed a lot more quickly now!

What Cycle Salvation really needs are some half-decent bikes. We have lots of crappy old ten-speeds in the basement, but none of those are worth the effort of a full overhaul, which command higher prices and help CS pay their rent. (re-Cycles has gotten most of the low-end ones ready in As Is but perfectly ride-able condition for sale).
